Dog Friendly Holidays
We are dog owners ourselves and so would love you to bring your dogs to share in the enjoyment of your holiday in this beautiful part of the country.
We would prefer not to have lots of rules because we realise that dogs are very much part of people’s families, however Coldgill View is very much part of our family so please look after it for us. Also, some of our guests will be visiting without dogs.
If you are bringing dogs, please bear in mind the following: –
Please pick up, bag and dispose of any dog poo. You are welcome to let your dogs in the two enclosed gardens but please make sure that gates are closed to ensure your pet is safe.
We are lucky to have wonderful walks, Lakes and beaches close by to enjoy in all weathers. When returning from walks with muddy dogs, please use the outside tap to clean them off before allowing them back in the house. Please bring your own “pet” towel for this purpose as none are provided. Please keep your dogs in the kitchen until they are clean and dry.
If you do like your dog/s to curl up with you on furniture, then please bring and use your own throws/towels. Please use the washing machine in the utility room to wash any throws and towels, but please use the Petwear Wash Bag provided (in the cupboard by the washing machine) to prevent dog hairs in the washing machine. If required there are vacuum cleaners including a handheld one in the cupboard under the stairs.
We understand that some dogs like to sleep near their owners, we would ask that they are not allowed on beds, but please bring a bed cover if you are concerned that your dog will get on the bed if they are used to doing this at home. A stair gate is provided to help control where your dog is free to wander in the house. A large dog crate is also provided if required. Both the stair gate and the crate are in the second utility room (by the downstairs toilet), please feel free to use these. All we ask is that you return them to where they are stored and collapse the crate.
Locally there is a wonderful selection of dog friendly pubs, cafes and tourist attractions. Please avoid leaving your dogs unattended in the house. If this is necessary, please leave them in the kitchen or utility room.
Please let us know that you will be bringing your dog(s) at the time of booking. We welcome 3 dogs per stay free of charge. If you have more canine friends to bring, please speak to us at the time of booking.
Sadly, where damage is caused by dogs / pets that cannot be cleaned or repaired the guests will be responsible for the costs of replacing damaged items and this will be taken out of the damage/security deposit.
End of doggy house rules!! We are confident that our guests are responsible dog owners and considerate human beings and will look after Coldgill View for us. This has certainly been our experience to date.
And finally….if you take some happy photos of your dog enjoying their holiday we would love to see them and put them on our Facebook page and Google profile.
